Iran, Italy to boost agricultural ties

Iran and Italy have reached agreement for broadening cooperation in the field of agricultural research, the dolat.ir website reported.

Iranian Agriculture Minister Sadeq Khalilian, who had traveled to Italy to attend the 38th FAO meeting, paid a visit to Padano Technological Park in Milan and discussed ways to expand cooperation in research fields.

Luigi Tarenzi, the director of Padano Technological Park, which is among the top 20 research centers in Europe, invited Iranian researchers to do activity in the center.

In January, the President of Italy-Iran Chamber of Commerce and Industry called for the expansion of economic relations between the two countries, saying that Rome will be Tehran's main European trade partner for the year 2013, Press TV reported.

During a meeting with a group of Iranian businessmen in Rome, Rosario Alessandrello said Italy is prepared to increase the level of its business interactions with the Islamic Republic.
