Iranian President Hassan Rouhani inaugurated four telecommunication projects in the country.
"The projects will provide 4,100 villages with high-speed internet and will increase fiber optic data transit capacity between Tehran and Isfahan by 400 gigabytes per second," Iran's IRNA news agency reported on May 17.
Moreover, the Asia-Europe data transit capacity via Iran will be increased by 150 400 gigabytes per second.
On April 1, Mahmoud Vaezi, Iranian Minister of Communications and Information Technology, invited advanced countries' telecom companies to offer consultations and proposals for making investments in Iranian telecommunications field.
"Iran urged the International Telecommunications Union (ITU) to plan for the broader development of the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) to ensure the future development of the world telecommunications," Vaezi said.
