Kazakhstan plans to export up to 100,000 cars per annum to Russia

By Elena Kosolapova - Trend: Kazakhstan plans to export up to 100,000 cars per annum to Russia, Novosti-Kazakhstan reported.

"Our producers plan to supply up to 100,000 cars to the Russian Federation by 2020 ", Kazakh First Deputy Prime Minister, Chairman of the Coordination Council for Kazakhstan's Integration and member of the Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission Bakytzshan Sagintaev said at the meeting of national coalition of democratic forces "Kazakhstan-2050" on May 19.

Sagintaev noted that the level of localization in the automotive industry in the Customs Union countries (Kazakhstan, Russia and Belarus) should reach a level of 50 percent by 2018. Currently, the level of localization in the car production in Kazakhstan is at 30 percent.

Kazakhstan greatly increased car production in recent years. The country doubled car production in 2013 compared to 2012 and produced 37,471 cars. Kazakh Auto Business Association forecasts car production at 53,000 cars in 2014. Kazakhstan produces such cars as Nissan, Skoda, Toyota, KIA, SsangYong, Chevrolet and others.
