Kazakhstan interested in Japanese support for innovative processes in economy

Speaker of the Parliament of Kazakhstan Nurlan Nigmatulin met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Kazakhstan Ichiro Kawabata.

A wide range of issues on further strengthening of Kazakh-Japanese cooperation was discussed during the meeting, according to the message of the Parliament of Kazakhstan.

Nigmatulin said that the legislative support for the introduction of the digital economy, ensuring cyber-security and the development of innovative processes in the economy are in the area of practical interest for the Kazakh deputies.

The chairman of the parliament stressed, that the President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev and the Prime Minister of Japan Shinzo Abemade made significant steps to improve the relations between the two countries and to reach the level of strategic partnership.

The officials also stated that Kazakhstan and Japan are close allies in nuclear disarmament and non-proliferation, peaceful use of atomic energy and sustainable development.

The Speaker highly appreciated the participation of the delegation of the Parliamentary Friendship League at EXPO-2017, held in Kazakhstan, noting that the pavilion of Japan has become one of the most visited.
