As of late August, 2017, the population’s bank deposits in Azerbaijani districts (except for Baku) totaled 520.66 million manats, which is nearly 8 percent more than in the same period last year, according to the report of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA).
The share of bank deposits in districts was 7.55 percent of the total volume of bank deposits as of early September, 2017.
For comparison: the share of bank deposits in districts was 6.1 percent (482.3 million manats) of the total volume of bank deposits as of late August 2016.
The volume of deposits in the districts increased in August 2017 amid the decrease in deposits in the country.
In August 2016, the population kept deposits worth 7.9 billion manats in the banks.
As of September 1, 2017, this figure decreased to 6.89 billion manats.
The average annual deposit rate throughout the country reached 4.5 percent, and on Baku – 4.4 percent in August 2017.
