Turkey eyes to improve transportation system - ministry

The Ministry of Transportation, Maritime Affairs and Communications of Turkey plans to introduce new systems for improving transportation system in the country, the ministry told Trend Nov. 27.

A single card system for payment of fares for maritime and public transportation, including subway, will be one of the introduced innovations, and the work is already underway in this direction, the ministry noted.

“A special mobile application allowing passengers to learn the exact place and time of arrival of transportation vehicles will be also developed within the project,” the ministry said.

The ministry noted that development of a single card will be carried out exclusively by a Turkish company.

All transportation vehicles in Turkey will be equipped with surveillance cameras within improvement of transportation system, according to the ministry.
