Italy remains leader among Azerbaijan’s foreign trade partners

Azerbaijan’s trade turnover with five main trade partners reached 9.95 billion manats in January-November 2017, which accounts for 49 percent of all volume of the country’s trade turnover, said a report of Azerbaijan’s State Customs Committee Dec. 13.

In January-November 2017, Italy ranked first in the list of Azerbaijan’s foreign trading partners with a trade turnover of $4.19 billion and a specific weight of 20.66 percent. Italy is followed by Turkey - $2.15 billion (10.58 percent), Russia – $1.74 billion (8.55 percent), China – $940.61 million (4.64 percent) and Germany – $937.59 million (4.62 percent).

Italy remains leader for consumption of Azerbaijani goods. The country accounted for $3.93 billion (31.41 percent) of Azerbaijan’s total export volume.

Italy is followed by Turkey - $1.31 billion (10.47 percent), Israel - $564.16 million (4.51 percent), Russia - $528.97 million (4.23 percent) and Canada - $485.21 million (3.88 percent). The share of these countries in total export volume of Azerbaijan is 54.5 percent.

In January-November 2017, Azerbaijan imported goods worth $1.36 billion (17.51 percent) from Russia. Russia ranked first for this indicator and was followed by Turkey - $1.14 billion (14.69 percent), China - $761.75 million (9.78 percent), the US - $681.56 million (8.75 percent) and Ukraine - $408.4 million (5.24 percent). The share of these countries in total import volume of Azerbaijan is 55.97 percent.

In January-November 2017, Azerbaijan exported goods worth $12.5 billion, which is 50.4 percent more than in the same period of 2016. In the reporting period, imports amounted to about $7.79 billion, which is slightly more than in January-November last year. The surplus in the reporting period amounted to $4.71 billion, which is 7.9 times more than in the same period last year.
