In Uzbekistan enterprises produced industrial products worth 14.5 trillion soums in January 2018, the Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan said in a message. The figure increased by 12.9 percent compared to January 2017, according to preliminary data.
The growth was mainly achieved thanks to the increase of the total volume of industrial production in the refining industry by 9.3 percent (contribution to the increase of the total volume of industrial production by 7.1 points), mining and quarrying - 33.4 percent (4.9 points) , supply of electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning - 9 percent (0. 7 points) and water supply, sewerage, waste collection and disposal - 23.8 percent (0.2 points).
The volume of products produced by mining and quarrying enterprises amounted to 2.5 trillion soums, or 17.1 percent of the total volume of industry.
The volume of products produced by refining enterprises in January 2018 amounted to 10.6 trillion soums, or 73.2 percent of the total volume of industry.
The volume of products produced by electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning enterprises amounted to 1.3 trillion soums (8.8 percent of the total volume of industry).
Thanks to the measures taken to expand the assortment and stimulate the output of finished goods, the production of consumer goods totaled 4.4 trillion soums and increased by 7.1 percent compared to January 2017, the share in the total volume of industry was 30.5 percent.
Compared to January 2017, the share of production of non-food products increased from 55.7 percent to 61.3 percent in the structure of consumer goods in January 2018.
Dynamic development of industrial activity of small business entities ensured the growth of industrial production by 2.2 percent compared to January 2017, while the share of small business in the industry was 28.7 percent.
To date, more than 50,000 industrial enterprises operate in Uzbekistan. During January 2018, 1,100 industrial enterprises were created in the country.
