The head of Iran Fisheries Organization said the country is ready to export various kinds of seafood products to Georgia.

During a meeting with Iran's Ambassador to Georgia Javad Ghavam Shahidi, Hassan Salehi said, “We are ready to ship seafood products to Georgia”.

Iran can also offer technical and engineering services as well as training programs on fish farming, he added, according to the official website of Iran’s Agriculture Ministry.

The two sides agreed to pursue the issue in the future by exchanging state and private delegations.

Since 2015, Iran has reportedly been exporting fishery products, including shrimp, trout, other varieties of fish, and canned products to a number of countries in the region, including Russia.

Iran Fisheries Organization has defined projects in the fields of aquaculture, fishing, processing, marketing and trade, for which it supports domestic and foreign investments.
