Kazakhstan completes first stage of railway station reconstruction in Petropavl

First stage of the railway station reconstruction has been completed in the Kazakh city of Petropavl, Trend reports with reference to the Kazakh media.

Facades of the west and east wings and the roof of the central part of the station were renovated, and the design and survey work on the remaining reconstruction was carried out.

In 2019, as part of the second stage, the reconstruction of the central part of the railway station and utilities will begin, and the external power supply system will be updated.

The renovation of the station is planned to be completed in 2021. The project also provides for the installation of two escalators and high-capacity cargo-and-passenger elevators in the building.

After the reconstruction, there will be two waiting rooms at the station: one in the west wing, for commuters, and another one in the central part, for those waiting for long-distance trains.
