On average, about 31,000 tons of cargo have been transported in West Azerbaijan province, according to statistics, he noted.

There are about 15,000 trucks in the province, and despite some problems, they are fulfilling their duties, he said.

“This Iranian year, 4.5 million passengers have been transported by passenger transportation vehicles in the province,” he noted.

There are more than 30,000 drivers involved in passenger and cargo transportation, he said.

This Iranian year, drivers’ protests due to business and domestic issues have led to some problems in the transport sector, he noted, adding that however, these problems have been solved by the authorities in time.
