Uzbekistan, IRO discuss prospects for cooperation in oil and gas industry

Uzbek Ambassador to Benelux countries, Dilyor Khakimov held a meeting in Rotterdam (Netherlands) with the leadership of IRO (Association of Dutch Suppliers in the Oil and Gas Industry and Offshore Renewable Industry), Trend reports via UzDaily.

During the meeting, the head of diplomatic mission shared information on the modern development of the oil and gas industry in Uzbekistan with IRO Managing Director Sander Vergroesen and Business Development Manager Tjerk Suurenbroek.

Khakimov stated that 242 deposits are successfully operating in Uzbekistan out of which 110 were discovered during the years of independence including 15 in cooperation with foreign investors. Nowadays, such large companies as Lukoil and Gazprom (Russia), Petronas (Malaysia), CNODC (PRC), KNOC (Korea) and others are represented in Uzbekistan.

IRO representatives expressed readiness to establish contacts with JSC Uzbekneftegaz and promote the energy potential of Uzbekistan among the members of Association.

In general, representatives of IRO confirmed their interest in organizing the visit of member companies of association to Uzbekistan to exchange views on the prospects for implementation of projects in the energy sector.

Sander Vergroesen invited the relevant structures and companies of Uzbekistan to take part in the next IRO meeting which will be held in Rotterdam in October this year.
