Baku, Azerbaijan, Jan. 25

By Rashid Shirinov – Trend:

Delegations of the railway authorities of Uzbekistan and Tajikistan have held a meeting in Tashkent, Trend reports citing the Uzbek media.

The talks were held with a view to consistently develop bilateral relations as part of further strengthening of mutually beneficial cooperation.

The meeting participants paid special attention to freight and passenger transportation, increasing the volume of transit freight on a contractual basis, as well as bilateral discounts for 2019.

It was noted that both countries will create new opportunities to increase freight and passenger traffic on the railway.

At the end of the meeting, the parties signed a protocol of intent.

It should be noted that in 2018, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan provided preferences for a number of freight services, including discounts on import and export transportation. Comfortable conditions for passenger transportation were also created.
