Iranian Minister: Iran's share in Belt and Road Initiative should increase

The Minister of Economic Affairs and Finance of the Islamic Republic of Iran who is visiting Beijing to attend the second "One Belt, One Road" international forum said that Iran's share in this initiative should be Increased.

In his words, the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) is of great importance to Iran, and Tehran supports the Chinese President's plan. "In line with the objectives of the BRI projects, significant capacities and unique geographic features of Iran have led to a lot of benefits for the country within the framework of the cooperation in the project implementation,” the Minister Farhad Dezhpasand said during his visit to China on April 23, Trend reports citing IRNA.

“On the sidelines of this conference, we can hold negotiate with the ministers of economics of other countries and expand our international cooperation," Dezhpasand added. He argued that China provided a variety of financial resources to realize the BRI project.

Given that delegations from more than 100 countries attend this forum, there is a good opportunity for expansion of Iran's economic cooperation with the participating countries, the Minister of Economy said. “We welcome Chinese investors in Iran,” he added.

The second "One Belt, One road" international forum is scheduled to be held in Beijing on April 25-27, 2019.
