Exports from Georgia to EU countries increase

In January-May 2019, exports of products from Georgia to the EU countries increased by 22.1 percent and amounted to $360 million, which is 22.1 percent more than the previous year and accounts for 24.6 percent of the total exports of the country, Trend reports with reference to apsny.ge link

At the same time, the volume of imports from EU countries reached $885.8 million (11.5 percent less), and accounted for 25.4 percent of total imports.

In the same period, trade with the EU countries amounted to $1,246.7 million, which is 3.9 percent lower than the figure in the previous year.

As for the trade deficit, in January-May 2019 its share in the total negative trade balance amounted to 25.9 percent.
