How much electricity Iranian TPPs have produced over past 6 years?

Iran's power generation has reached 9,000 megawatts over the past six years (until mid-summer of 2019), as stated by the Iranian Energy Ministry, Trend reports referring to the ministry's website.

According to the ministry, 69 new thermal power plants (TPPs) with a total production capacity of 8,991 megawatts have been commissioned over the past six years.

The capacity of Iran's power plants has also increased, having reached 84,795 megawatts by August 1, 2019. Moreover, the capacity of alternative renewable power plants increased to 750 megawatts by this date.

The number of transformers in Iran also increased over the past six years, from 555,000 to 724,304.

Furthermore, Iran's state and private sectors invested 1.35 quadrillion rials (app. $32.1 billion) in the Iranian electricity industry over the reported period.

The six-year period calculated by the Iranian Energy Ministry is counted starting from August 3, 2013, when the government led by Hassan Rouhani came to power.
