Turkmenistan’s GDP significantly rises since early 2019

ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, Dec.7

Turkmenistan’s GDP growth rate stood at 6.3 percent from January through November 2019, Trend reports citing a message from Turkmen government.

Reportedly, Turkmenistan’s Minister of Finance and Economy Batyr Bazarov and Deputy Prime Minister Myratgeldy Meredov, who is in charge of the fuel and energy sphere, delivered reports during the expanded meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers.

During the meeting, it was noted that the country’s production growth rate was 6.9 percent higher than in the same period of 2018.

“Moreover, the oil refining plan is 101.1 percent fulfilled, while the gasoline, diesel fuel and liquefied natural gas production plans are complete by 100.1 percent, 101.7 percent and 100.3 percent, respectively,” reads the message.

Earlier, the country’s Ministry of Finance and Economy said that GDP will amount to 6.3 percent as of 2019.

By 2025, this indicator is projected at 8.2 percent, the contribution of the services sector in GDP volume is expected to grow to 45.8 percent, industries - 33.8 percent, construction - 11.5 percent, agriculture - 8.9 percent, the report said.

Turkmenistan's GDP growth was 6.2 percent in 2018.
