Moscow ahead of regional partners in terms of exports to Azerbaijan

The Moscow Export Center and the Russian Trade Representation in Azerbaijan (in Baku) are preparing a diversified online business mission of enterprises of the Russian capital to Azerbaijan, Trend reports citing the trade representation.

The current and potential exporters of Moscow, who have the resources and are ready to enter the Azerbaijani market, are invited to participate in the event, the message said.

"Enterprises of the Russian capital lead the rating of Azerbaijan's regional partners in terms of the volume of products supplied, having a share of almost 20 percent in the export supplies of Russian companies to Azerbaijan," the report reads.

“The priority industrial sectors for Russian exports of goods and services to Azerbaijan, stipulated by the Country Action Plan for the Development of Foreign Trade Relations of the two states for 2021-2023, include: mechanical engineering and components; pharmaceutical industry; food industry and agriculture; timber industry complex and building materials; logistics and cargo transportation, trade, services and digital technologies,” said the representation’s message.

Russia is traditionally one of the key foreign trade partners of Azerbaijan. According to the Federal Customs Service of Russia, trade turnover with Azerbaijan in 2020 amounted to $2.9 billion, including Russian exports exceeded $2.1 billion.
