Iran declares its trade turnover with ECO

Iran's trade turnover with the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) amounted to 23.7 million tons worth $11.7 billion in the last Iranian year (March 20, 2020 through March 20, 2021), Director General of Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA), Mehdi Mirashrafi said, Trend reports citing IRICA.

According to Mirashrafi, Iran exported 18.4 million tons of goods worth $6.9 billion to ECO member countries over last Iranian year.

Mirashrafi added that moreover, Iran imported 5.3 million tons of goods worth $4.8 billion from ECO member countries during the reporting period.

The director general noted that Iran's trade turnover with ECO member countries was $2.1 billion worth in positive balance last Iranian year.

"Last Iranian year, Iran exported most of its goods to Turkey, Afghanistan and Pakistan among the ECO member countries. Also, Iran mainly imported goods from Turkey, Pakistan and Azerbaijan between these countries,” he said.

Reportedly, Iran's total foreign trade turnover amounted to about 146 million tons worth $73 billion in the last Iranian year. During this period, Iran exported 112 million tons of goods worth about $35 billion and imported 33.4 million tons worth $38.4 billion.

The Economic Cooperation Organization has 10 members. These are Turkey, Pakistan, Iran, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Afghanistan.
