Number of industrial enterprises put into operation in Iran increases

The number of industrial enterprises put into operation in Iran increased by 13 percent during the first four months of the current Iranian year (from March 21 through July 22, 2021), compared to the same period last Iranian year, said Deputy Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade of Iran, Mehdi Sadeghi Niaraki, Trend reports citing the ministry.

A total of 2,100 industrial enterprises were put into operation in Iran over the 4 months, Niaraki said.

The deputy minister added that with the operation of these industrial enterprises in Iran within the 4 months, about 54,000 people were employed. The employment increased by 45 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year.

According to him, 8.58 trillion rials (about $204 million) has been spent on industrial enterprises, which is 174 percent more than in the same period last Iranian year.

Niaraki noted that in addition, Iran issued licenses for the setting up of 12,000 enterprises during the reporting period. About 299,000 people are estimated to be employed after the operation of these enterprises.
