Sitting of customs services heads of WTO European region states accomplished its work

The scheduled third sitting of the heads of the customs services of the World Trade Organization (WTO) European region states finished its work today in Baku. On the last day of the sitting chaired by the commissar of the Customs Service and Finance Security of Hungary, the vice President of the WTO European region Yanosh Nadya the issues on the results of the 2-nd global Congress on fight against fraud and piracy, presented by the WTO secretary general Michele Danet have been discussed, Trend reports. Director general of the Finland Customs Administration Tapani Erling presented the high level customs conference on border cooperation to take place in December 2006 in Finland, director of anti-criminal Initiative Center on cooperation of South- East Europe (SECI) Miti Mochnik informed the participants of the activities of the Center which has been functioning since 1999.

The SECI stressed, a huge role is played by the information technologies for efficient fight against various violations of law and wished to cooperate and expand ties in this field and launch new joint projects.

Director of Euro-Customs Martin Brown noted conditions for technical assistance in the customs field of the European Union and neighboring states.

Dane awarded 5 officers of the State Customs Committee for services in the customs field. The head of the Azerbaijan Customs Committee awarded also a number of customs officials, as well as Dane.
