Meeting of CIS Plant Protection Council to be Held in Baku
The 13th conference of CIS Council of European and Mediterranean Plant Protection Organization (EPPO) will be held in Baku.
The Deputy Chairman of the State Phyto-Sanitarian Service of the Azerbaijani Ministry of Agriculture Elmaddin Eyvazov told Trend that the event scheduled for 9-13 October is expected to bring together the specialists of 16 EPPO member-countries.
Azerbaijan will be represented in the event by the specialists of the Agricultural Ministry and Phyto-Sanitarian Service headed by the Minister of Agriculture Ismat Abbasobv.
The non-governmental organization EPPO, of which headquarter is located in France was created in 1951 by 15 European countries. At present, the number of its members equals 48. The primary goal of the organization is to protect the plants and develop international strategy against spread of dangerous pests to ensure the security and effective methods of control.
