Azerbaijan, Baku /corr. Trend I.Khalilova / Rufat Aslanly, Deputy Chairman of the Managing Bard of the National Bank of Azerbaijan (NBA) is continuing study of the impact of last rise of prices of energy resources and utilities tariffs on basic inflation ratio.
"Models show that direct and indirect impact of the price rise should be some 4%, as the IMF's calculations also testified," he said. The NBA's forecasts on basic inflation for 2007 were announced in the amount of 7-9% in major directions of monetary policy.
"At the present time the NBA has not come out with official statement on alternation of these forecasts. Though after announcing its forecasts on inflation, the situation in this direction has changed and at the present time its impact is being studied. If necessary, the forecasts can be corrected," he explained.
The IMF announced on the necessity of injecting corrections into the forecasts. Meanwhile, Aslanly urged that there is not an essential difference between the methods of calculation used by the NBA and the IMF.
