World Oil Demand in 2009 to Grow by 1.5%: EIA

Azerbaijan, Baku, 9 April /corr. Trend A.Badalova / The U.S. Energy Information Administration reports that the worldwide oil demand in 2008 is expected to increase by 1.2mln barrels per day up to 86.58mln barrels against 85.36mln barrels in 2007.

In 2009 the world oil demand is projected to increase by 1.3mln barrels up to 87.88mln barrels per day, according to the EIA.

Some 20.61mln barrels of oil consumption will fall on the USA in 2008. In 2009 the oil demand in the USA will increase by 0.2mln barrels up to 20.82mln barrels per day.

In 2008, China will consume 7.95mln barrels of oil per day and in 2009 - 8.28mln barrels.
