SOCAR Increases Gas Delivery to Georgia

Azerbaijan, Baku, 27 November / Trend / The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) exported about 512mln cu.m of gas to Georgia from April to October, the SOCAR said.

Amount of export made up 59.5mln cu.m of gas in October. Gas delivery to Georgian began in April.

About 1.5mln cu.m of gas is delivered to Georgia a day. The SOCAR possesses own gas, which is produced from fields, developed by the company.

In May, SOCAR transported 30mln cu m of its natural gas to Iran. These supplies were implemented via the pipelines of the Azerigas CJSC. Company implements gas supplies to Iran for $300 per 1,000 cu m.

The Gazi-Mahammad-Astara-Bin-Biand pipeline (1474.5km) connects Azerbaijan and Iran. Pipeline's carrying capacity is 10bln cu m per year. This route is a branch of the Kazakh-Astara-Iran pipeline, which was put into operation in 1971. Three compressor stations in Gazi-Mahammad, Agdash and Kazakh, were constructed in this line. Gas transport system covers pressure of 55 atmospheres and diameter of the pipeline makes up 1,200mm.
