The blast in the five-storey apartment building, located Javadkhan str. 30, resulted from the gas leak as a result of illegal using of gas with the utilization of a rubber hose in one of the apartments, Bakgaz (distribution of gas in Baku) said on Jan. 17."Today we obtained photographs from Nasimi region, where all details were imprinted, in particular the line, drawn with the use of a hose," the same source said.
The blast occurred in apt. 60 on the fifth floor. The apartment was rent, Gasib Magamaliyev, head of Nasimi Executive Power of Baku, told on Jan. 17.
The blast killed 5 people - Tahirov Osman Rustam oglu, 38, Akbarov Hafiz Nurulla oglu, 50, Bagirova Fargana Ilyas gizi, 37, Huseynova Nargiz Bahlul gizi, 67 and Murtuzayeva Elnara, 29. The state of remaining four injured is medium grave.
According to preliminary investigation, the blast occurred due to gas leak, Deputy Minister of Emergency Situations Etibar Mirzayev said.
A criminal case has been filed on the case in accordance with the article 314.2 of the Penal Code (accidents resulted from indifferent attitude of officers to work), first deputy prosecutor of Baku city Fazil Hasanov told Trend .
Mahamaliyev said the blast took place in rented apartment 60 in the fifth floor.
He said 8 apartments have been fully destroyed. The residents of these apartments have settled down at their relatives' houses. The residents have been allotted premises in kindergartens and secondary schools. "We will evacuate them to schools and kindergartens once they appeal us," he said.
