By late March SOCAR plans to put into operation the first filling station in Azerbaijan under its own brand, a source in SOCAR said today.
"The operations to construct filling stations are underway. By the end of this month the first filling station will be put into operation," a source said.
SOCAR head Rovnag Abdullayev said that the company intends to put into operation three filling stations in the first quarter of this year. The number of filling stations under the brand of SOCAR will reach 10 in the second quarter of this year.
Total number of SOCAR's filling stations in Azerbaijan will be 26.
So far, SOCAR has built and put into operation 32 filling stations in Georgia. About 30 filling stations more are planned to be put into operation this year. The company is also expanding its activity on the retail market of oil products in Ukraine. In particular, SOCAR is currently conducting a rebranding of about 20 filling stations in the country.
