SOCAR delivers over 55 million cubic meters of social gas on Georgian market in April

In the January-April, according to preliminary data, SOCAR Gas Supply (a subsidiary of SOCAR) delivered 398 million cubic meters of "social" of gas to Georgia compared to 340 million cubic meters in January-March, a source in SOCAR Energy Georgia said.

He said that more than 58 million cubic meters of gas was delivered by SOCAR Gas Supply in April to the Georgian market.

SOCAR Gas Supply delivered more than 800 million cubic meters of "social" gas to Georgia in 2009.

SOCAR and the Georgian government in 2008 signed agreements to transfer the management of 30 gas distributing facilities and gas distributing networks covering those regions of Georgia as Kakheti, Mtskheta-Mtianeti, Shida and Kvemo Kartli, Adjara, Guria, Imereti, Samegrelo. These networks were exploited by 24 companies. An agreement on gas deliveries for five years was signed. Distributing networks have been transferred to SOCAR in February 2009.

SOCAR Energy Georgia is SOCAR's subsidiary. It deals with distribution and marketing the oil market and oil products in Georgia. The company sells oil and gas on the Georgian market. Co-founders of SOCAR Georgia are: SOCAR - 51 percent, Petro-Trans FZCO - 24,5 percent and Ivan Chkhartishvili - 24,5 percent.
