Iran to increase prices for energy resources

The prices for seven types of energy, including petrol, diesel fuel, kerosene, fuel oil, liquefied gas, natural gas and electricity are expected to increase in Iran from late October when targeted subsidies will be implemented, Mehr agency said.

Iranian Minister of Economy and Finance, Seyyed Shams al-Din Hosseini, said that today the cost of non-subsidized petrol in Iran is about $0.38 per liter. He did not rule out the possibility of increasing energy prices in the nearest future.

Currently, the cost of subsidized petrol is $0.11 per liter.

The cost of Regular non-subsidized petrol is $0.38, Super petrol - about $0.48.

Iranian deputy oil minister Alireza Zeighami said that the country produces 45 million liters of petrol and 95 million liters of diesel fuel now. Daily processing volume in Iran is 1.7 million barrels of oil. Total daily production of oil products is 220 million liters.
