As many as 205 solar water heaters will be provided to people living in the foothills of the Zagros Mountains in the Sardasht and Piranshahr districts of Iran’s West Azerbaijan province, Director General of the Natural and Water Resources Department of the province Mirsamad Mosavi said, Trend reports via IRNA.
He said that 9 billion rials (about $214,000) will be allocated from the National Development Fund of Iran for the implementation of this project.
He added that the work is underway to sign a contract with the related companies.
He noted that this step was taken to protect the forests of the Zagros Mountains in the province.
Iran’s West Azerbaijan province has 101,000 hectares of forests. The forests of the Zagros Mountains start from this province.
