BAKU, Azerbaijan, Feb. 25
By Rufiz Hafizoglu - Trend:
Construction of a gas pipeline from Turkey’s Igdir province to Azerbaijan’s Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic is a priority issue for Turkey and Azerbaijan, a source in the Turkish Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources told Trend Feb. 25.
The source noted that discussions on this issue will be held this year.
“Preparations for the construction of this gas pipeline may begin this year,” the source added.
However, the source didn’t specify the launch period for the Igdir-Nakhchivan gas pipeline’s construction.
Gas is supplied to Azerbaijan’s Nakhchivan via Iran on the basis of swap operations.
