Most of Azerbaijan's 2M2021 exports to Romania fall on oil

Azerbaijan had exported 84,725 tons of crude oil to Romania from January through February 2021, Trend reports referring to the Azerbaijani State Statistical Committee.

According to the committee, in the reporting period, the value of the crude’s export to Romania made up over $30.5 million, which is 88 percent of Azerbaijan’s total exports to the country.

Meanwhile, the total volume of Azerbaijan’s oil export was more than 5.6 million tons, up by 0.3 percent over the year, and the total export value – over $2 billion (25 percent decrease compared to the first 2 months of last year).

Economic relations between Romania and Azerbaijan are developing rapidly. Romania expressed its intention to participate in the export of Azerbaijani oil to European markets. The countries cooperate in regional projects, including within the TRACECA program, and more than 43 documents have been signed between the countries in various fields.

In the first 2 months of 2021, trade turnover between the two countries amounted to $38 million, of which more than $34.6 million fell on export from Azerbaijan to Romania, and over $3.4 million – on import of Romanian products by Azerbaijan.
