Murphy Shipping plans to participate in tender by Р’Р  Azerbaijan

Murphy Shipping & Commercial Services JV, the Azerbaijani-British joint venture, intends to participate in the tender announced by Р'Р  Azerbaijan on determination of general contractor on rendering of transport services, Rauf Mammadov, the Director General of the Company, told Trend.

Murphy Shipping is involved in transportation of cargos and has own customs terminal
in Garadagh. The construction of the terminal comprised around $2m. Approximately 3,000 tons of pipes, 30 containers with equipment of contractors and other materials are kept in the terminal. They are envisaged for implementation of projects in Azerbaijan, as well as work in Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan. Cargos kept in the terminal are taxable only in case of their use at the territory of Azerbaijan that attracts the companies working outside of the country. The companies use the materials kept in Azerbaijan at implementation of projects abroad.

According to Mammadov, at present around 20% of equipment in the terminal is used for the Turkmen projects, 10% - Kazakh projects. Murphy Shipping is expected to increase the figure in the future. It has representations in Russia, UAE, Georgia, Turkey, Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan. The Company delivers pontoons and piers from Singapore for construction of Heydar Aliyev drilling plant.
