BTC's third pump station tested in Turkey

BTC Co has completed testing the third pump station (PST-3) of Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline (BTC) in Turkey. At the moment Azeri Light technical oil is pumped to the next section ending at the last pump station (PST-4), Trend reports with reference to BP, the operator of BTC Co. There are totally four main and a number of intermediate pump stations in Turkey. Departure of first tanker with oil from Ceyhan port scheduled from late May 2006 still remains intact.

As per the results of pumping oil into the section between PST-2 and PST-3, there are nearly 6.5mln bbl of Azeri Light crude oil in BTC pipeline.

Pumping crude oil to BTC pipeline started in May 2005. 10mln bbl of oil is sufficient for filling the BTC pipeline.

According to Turkish media, oil in BT is reaching Ceyhan May 25.

BTC consortium representatives in Turkey say 99.5% of designed operations in Turkey are complete as of April 1, 2006. As to constructions operations in Ceyhan port, they are over.
