The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) and Azeri government try to assist Georgia in getting more volume of gas. At the same time, SOCAR will try to ensure internal demand of Azerbaijan. We have several variants to resolve the issue of gas supply. It depends on various factors such as the volume of production of Shahdeniz and volume of import gas, an authorized representative of SOCAR told, Trend reports.

At the moment, discussions are held on Georgias receiving additional volume of gas from Shahdeniz field. It will be achieved, if Turkish company BotaЕџ isnt ready to receive the gas from Shahdeniz field. However, Azerbaijan has its intentions in relation with this gas, told in SOCAR. The republic itself is going to obtain this gas.

According to the present agreement, Georgia may annually receive up to 800 million cubic meters of gas through Baku-Tbilisi-Arzurum pipeline, with preferential terms. However, this volume doesnt satisfy Georgia and it is going to increase its share up to 1,5-2 billion cubic meters a year.
