Р'Р , Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli project operator, started drilling the second well from West Azeri platform, Trend reports with reference to BP Azerbaijan. Alongside earlier drilled five advance bores, this well is the seventh in this part of the field.
The well, about 3,900 deep, is scheduled to be completed in late September 2006.
This year, with installation of West Azeri and start of drilling at Central Azeri, amount of production is expected to be 458k bbl a day.
During January-June 2006, Azerbaijan International Operating Company produced in contract area 10.041mln ton of Azeri Light oil, up 4.993mln ton over year. Oil production increase is explained with production start in Central and West Azeri in February 2005 and January 2006, respectively.
