Approximately 18.10.000 tons of bitumen have been produced in Azerbaijan in September, an increase of 2.2 times from forecasts for this period, Trend reports with reference to the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR).
Generally 116.6.000 tons of bitumen have been produced over the period of January-September 2006, an increase of 41.9% from the forecasts, the same source told. The volume of the bitumen production for the same period of last year equaled 90.22.000 tons, an increase of 25.38.000 tons from the figures of last year.
Bitumen is actively used in the internal market of Azerbaijan within the construction of roads.
