The two and three dimensional (2D and 3D) seismology exploration in the contract area of the field of South-West Gobustan at the request of the Gobustan Operating Company is 65% complete. The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) is carrying a seismic survey jointly with the Russian Trust of Tyumenneftgeofizika, Trend reports.
SOCAR informed Trend that completion of all work is scheduled for 2007.
Gobustan Operating Company (GOC) has developed Southwest Gobustan under the PSA concluded with SOCAR. The company began selling free gas in February 2006. In GOC 80% of stock belongs to Commonwealth Gobustan Limited and 20% to SOCAR. In Commonwealth Gobustan Limited 37.17% belongs to Arawak Energy and 62.83% to China National Petroleum Company.
