Average monthly nominal wages in Uzbekistan increases

Average monthly nominal accrued wages of employees in Uzbekistan increased by 27.5 percent in 2019, Trend reports citing Uzbekistan's State Statistics Committee.

From January through December 2019, average monthly nominal accrued wages of employees in the Republic of Uzbekistan made up 2.32 million soums ($243, including allowances for salaries, remuneration, incentive payments, compensation payments, as well as withholding tax on individuals and the union fund), and increased, compared to 2018, by 27.5 percent.

Average monthly nominal accrued wages of employees is significantly lower than the national average in the area of health care and social services (34 percent), accommodation and meals (24.6 percent) and education (20.8 percent).

"It is significantly higher than the national average in banking, insurance, leasing and credit mediation - by 106.4 percent, in information and communication - by 70.9 percent," the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan said in a message.

In addition, results of the analysis showed that the growth of average monthly nominal accrued wages of employees, compared to 2018, was observed in all types of economic activities.

"Significant growth was noted in the sphere of living and catering services - by 40.1 percent, banking, insurance, leasing and credit mediation activities - by 37.2 percent, education - by 33.3 percent," the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan said in a message.

From 1 February 2020, the salary of employees of budgetary institutions and organizations, pensions, scholarships, allowances, and also material assistance to low-income families will increase by 1.07 times.
