Certain loans issued in Iranian trade sector

The Iranian banks issued loans worth 2.21 quadrillion rials (about $52.7 billion) to the Iranian trade sector during the first nine months of the current Iranian year (March 20 through December 20, 2020), Trend reports citing the statistics of Central Bank of Iran (CBI).

According to the statistics, loans worth 95.2 trillion rials (about $2.27 billion) were issued in connection with the establishment of enterprises and other opportunities in the trade sector over the reporting period.

“During 9 months, 973 trillion rials (about $23.1 billion) worth of loans were issued in the trade sector as working capital,” the statistics said.

Furthermore, Iranian banks issued loans worth 6.74 trillion rials (about $160 million) for the repair of enterprises and 132 trillion rials (about $3.15 billion) for development of enterprises in the trade sector, the statistics said.

According to the statistics, at the same time, 1 quadrillion rials (about $23.8 billion) worth of loans were issued for the purchase of personal assets, 6.21 trillion rials (about $148 million) for the purchase of housing and 1.91 trillion rials (about $45.6 million) for other purposes in the trade sector.

As reported, the Iranian banks issued loans worth a total of about 12.2 quadrillion rials (about $290 billion) in various sectors over the nine months. The number of issued loans increased by 94.8 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year.
