Lending of legal entities, individuals in Azerbaijan's Nakhchivan rebounds

Banks and credit organizations of Azerbaijan’s Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic issued loans worth over 31.8 million manat ($18.7 million) to legal entities and individuals from January through February 2021, which is 12.1 percent more compared to 2M2020, Trend reports citing the report of Nakhchivan’s State Statistical Committee.

According to the report, 6.85 million manat (nearly $4.03 million) or 22.1 percent of the issued loans were short-term, and over 24.1 million manat ($14.1 million) or 77.9 percent were long-term.

In the reporting period, the republic’s GDP grew by 0.3 percent since early 2021, amounting to 369.2 million manat ($217.2 million).

Meanwhile, GDP per capita in the republic rose by 1.7 percent compared to the period from January through February 2020, making up 799.8 manat ($470.5).
