Foreign citizens spent 33.4 million manat ($19.6 million) in Azerbaijan using bank cards in March 2021, Trend reports referring to the ‘Export Review’ of the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication (CAERC) of Azerbaijan.
According to the CAERC, this indicator is 38 percent less compared to March 2020.
In the first quarter of this year, foreigners spent 83.9 million manat ($49.3 million, a decrease of nearly 2.5 percent on annual basis) in Azerbaijan through bank cards.
Meanwhile, 117,200 foreigners and stateless persons from 128 countries visited Azerbaijan, which is 4.4 times less than in the same period last year. The trips were carried out mainly for non-tourist purposes.
In 2020, foreign citizens spent 430.2 million manat ($253 million) in Azerbaijan using bank cards, which is 65.7 percent less compared to 2019.
