Azerbaijan, Baku, 21 April / Trend corr S. Babayeva/ Roald Sagdeev, distinguished Professor of Physics, is visiting Baku, Azerbaijani Communications & IT Ministry reported.
During the visit, which will last till 27 April, the physicist will hold meetings at the Communications Ministry. Today, he will meet with the Communications & IT Minister Ali Abbasov.
This is Sagdeev's second visit to Azerbaijan. In Feb 2007, he visited Azerbaijan and held a workshop on the subject of 'State and Prospects of Satellite Technologies' at the Communications Ministry.
Academician Sagdeev graduated from the Moscow State University. He worked in the Nuclear Power Institute named after Kurchatov, Nuclear Physics Institute at the Siberian Branch of the USSR Academy of Sciences. Since 1989, he has been working at the Maryland University, USA, and simultaneously is the senior research worker at the Space Research Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences. He has written a lot about physics of plasma, manageable thermonuclear synthesis and space physics.
