Delta Telecom Company will start providing WiMAX wireless Internet services, Company's Technical Director Rahid Alekperli told Trend .
According to Alekperli, the service will initially be available in Baku and the Absheron Peninsula, and after optimization of the work, the coverage zone will be expanded at the regional level. The cost of the Internet access via WiMAX technology will vary from 10 to 100 manat. User devices (WiMAX modems) will be available directly at the Company. Data transfer rate in the Mobile WiMAX network will reach six Gbit/s.
The 2.6 GHz frequency will be used to set up wireless access to WiMAX. The WiMAX Delta Telecom network is based on standard 802.16e, also known as Mobile WiMAX, and intended for mobile devices moving at speeds up to 100 km/h, Alekperli said
