Number of phishing attacks down in Azerbaijan

In November 2017, the number of phishing attacks in Azerbaijan’s segment of Internet decreased by 23.4 percent compared to October 2017, according to Netcraft analytical company’s report.

The report said that one phishing attack productive for scammers accounted for 590 sites in the .az domain in Azerbaijan, which accounts for 0.17 percent of all number of online resources registered in the .az domain (around 28,500 sites), according to the report.

The analysis is based on the Netcraft Toolbar program, which is a plug-in for browsers. The program notifies users of a potentially dangerous Internet resources and prevention of a phishing attack.

According to Netcraft, one phishing attack accounted for 510 sites in Ukraine, 963 sites – in Uzbekistan, 401 sites – in Russia, 217 sites – in Kyrgyzstan, 539 sites – in Belarus, 278 sites – in Armenia, 316 sites – in Kazakhstan, 234 sites - in Georgia.
