Blockchain Azerbaijan Center prepares action plan for 2019

The Blockchain Azerbaijan Center, together with the Azerbaijani Ministry of Justice, organizes an event, Chairman of the Azerbaijan Internet Forum (AMF) Osman Gunduz told Trend on Feb. 12.

“The projects being implemented by the ministry in the use of blockchain technology will be made public during the event,” he said.

“Presently, blockchain technology is successfully used where the registry is formed, while most of the services of the Ministry of Justice (registries and databases of the population) are based on them,” he said.

"A number of the Azerbaijani state organizations intend to use blockchain technology in their activity,” he said. “Among them are the Ministry of Justice, the State Committee on Property Issues, the Central Bank and others. We intend to strengthen ties with these structures."

Earlier, it was reported that the Ministry of Justice is preparing for the use of blockchain technology and SMART contracts in the housing and utilities sector. The ministry renders over 30 e-services, including about 15 information systems and registries. Among them are the register of "electronic notary", "electronic court", the penitentiary service, information systems of non-governmental organizations, population register, etc.

"The Blockchain Azerbaijan Center has prepared an action plan for 2019,” he said. “Besides organizing specialized targeted events and presentations, it is also planned to continue studying international experience, organize trainings for the media representatives and hold meetings at the universities. The main event of the year will be a major international conference on blockchain technology in Baku. The date of holding the conference is still being specified, but according to the preliminary data, the event will be organized in the middle of this year.”
