Over 3.802 million tourists visited Kazakhstan during 2018 which is 28.9 percent more compared to 2017, Kazakhstan’s Statistics Committee told Trend.
Thus, following the end of the reporting year, the most used transport to get to Kazakhstan, was train.
In particular, the majority of tourists used railway to get to Kazakhstan's regions: Atyrau (34,793 tourists out of 86,882 tourists), West Kazakhstan (43,180 out of 112,554), Kyzylorda (115,891 out of 191,214), Mangystau (43,167 out of 87,567), North Kazakhstan (37,907 out of 79,117), East Kazakhstan (115,450 out of 304,137) regions and Nur-Sultan city (269,655 out of 469,204).
Bus was the second most popular transport during the reporting period, in particular this type of transport was the most popular in five Kazakh regions: Akmola region (70,650 people out of 132,484 people), Almaty region (135,403 out of 294,849), Zhambyl region (64,881 out of 197,022), Turkestan region (202,435 out of 305,699) and Shymkent city (336,667 out of 407,625).
Air transportation was third, with Karaganda region (109,182 tourists out of 264,781 tourists), Pavlodar region (30,739 out of 116,618) and Almaty city (202,053 out of 458,418) leading the way.
