Half-year cargo movement from Portugal via Turkish ports revealed

The volume of cargo transshipment from Portugal through the ports of Turkey amounted to 984,078 tons from January through June 2020, the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of Turkey told Trend.

During the reporting period, 30,114 tons of cargo was carried by ships flying the Portuguese flag, and 918,756 tons of cargo - by ships flying the flag of other countries.

According to the ministry, ships flying the Portuguese flag transported 35,208 tons of cargo during the mentioned period.

The volume of cargo transshipment in transit from Portugal through the Turkish ports amounted to 337,566 tons.

In 1H2020, the volume of cargo movement via Turkish ports amounted to 179.6 million tons.

Meanwhile, the volume of cargo transshipment by ships flying the Turkish flag amounted to 14.3 million tons.

The volume of cargo transshipment through the Turkish ports by ships flying the flags of their countries amounted to 6.9 million tons, and by ships flying the flags of other countries – 158.3 million tons.

Over 36.1 million tons of cargo were transported through the ports of Turkey during the first six months of this year.

In June 2020, the volume of cargo transshipment through the ports of Turkey amounted to 28.1 million tons. At the same time, the volume of cargo transshipment by ships flying the Turkish flag amounted to 2.4 million tons.

The volume of transshipment of goods through the ports of Turkey by ships flying their countries’ flags exceeded 1 million tons, and by ships flying the flags of other countries – to 24.6 million tons.

In June 2020, 5.4 million tons of cargo were transported in transit through the ports of Turkey.
