PMO records surge in load/unload operations at Iranian ports

The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports increased by 42 percent in the 10th month of the current Iranian year (December 22, 2021 through January 20, 2022), compared to the same month last Iranian year, Trend reports via the statistics of Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).

According to the statistics, about 17.9 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports during the reporting month. Of this, 11.9 million tons were loaded and 6.03 million tons were unloaded.

“Over 10 million tons of crude oil and oil products were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the 10th month, which is an increase of 131.5 percent, compared to the same month last Iranian year. So, 8.01 million tons of crude oil and oil products were loaded, 2.07 million tons were unloaded. The loaded products increased by 197.6 percent and unloaded products by 24.6 percent, compared to the same month of the last Iranian year,” the statistics said.

In addition, 2.18 million tons of essential products were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports within the mentioned month, which is a decrease of 0.9 percent, compared to the same month last Iranian year. Of this, 141,000 tons were loaded and 2.04 million tons were unloaded.

According to the statistics, about 700,000 tons of metal products were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports over the 10th month, which is a decrease of 35.6 percent, compared to the same month last Iranian year. Of this, 643,000 tons were loaded and about 56,200 tons were unloaded.

“At the same time, about 1.85 million tons of construction and mining materials were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports during the reporting month. This is a decrease of 8.7 percent, compared to the same month of the last Iranian year. Of this, 1.52 million tons were loaded and 327,000 tons were unloaded,” the statistics said.

Within the 10th month, 50,900 tons of equipment, vehicles, and spare parts were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports. This is an increase of 68.7 percent, compared to the same month last Iranian year. Of this, 10,400 tons were loaded and 40,500 tons were unloaded.

According to the statistics, 528,000 tons of chemicals were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the 10th month of the current Iranian year, which is an increase of 23.4 percent, compared to the same month last Iranian year. Of this, 409,000 tons were loaded and about 119,000 tons were unloaded.

Furthermore, about 115,000 tons of leather, clothing, fiber, paper, and wood materials were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports over the 10th month, which is an increase of 95.8 percent, compared to the same month last Iranian year. So, 5,780 tons of goods were loaded and 109,000 tons were unloaded.

A total of 618,000 tons of small and assorted products were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports during the same month. The loaded/unloaded products decreased by 4.5 percent, compared to the same month last Iranian year. Of this, about 283,000 tons were loaded and 335,000 tons were unloaded, the statistics said.

According to the statistics, 1.79 million tons of container products were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the 10th month, which is an increase of 0.2 percent, compared to the same month last Iranian year. So, about 864,000 tons of container products were loaded and 727,000 tons were unloaded.

Moreover, about 10.9 million tons of goods were exported and 3.12 million tons were imported through Iranian ports in the 10th month of the current Iranian year.

Also, 335,000 tons of cargo were loaded and 349,000 tons were unloaded in Iranian ports for transit within the mentioned month.

According to the statistics, 575,000 tons of cargo were loaded and 2.37 million tons were unloaded in Iranian ports for cabotage in the 10th month. Also, 122,000 tons of cargo were loaded and 131,000 tons were unloaded for transshipment.

“Over the 10th month, about 5,260 tons of cargo were loaded and 55,900 tons were unloaded in Iranian ports for other purposes,” the statistics said.
