Sberbank group and Turkish Sembol signed a memorandum on strategic partnership within the Kazakh-Turkish business forum in Astana.

The document was signed by Sberbank of Russia Deputy Chairman of the Board for International Business Sergei Gorkov, chairman of Sberbank Alexander Kamalov, DenizBank president Hakan Ates and director of the Sembol branch in Kazakhstan Nihat Sarydzhan.

"Russia, Kazakhstan and Turkey are strategic partners in the sphere of increasing international trade flows and joint investment projects," Gorkov said after the signing ceremony. "This memorandum of cooperation will greatly expand the possibilities offered by Sberbank group to support projects and business of one of the largest Turkish companies Sembol with the help of modern and optimal financing schemes in all regions of our activity."

According to Ates, when DenizBank joined Sberbank's big family, its financial indices significantly improved.

According to Sarydzhan, Sembol has been working with Sberbank for more than three years. The sides established good partnership, supported by large projects such as the construction of various facilities for the XXII Olympic Winter Games 2014 in Sochi, one of the Kazakh leading universities - Nazarbayev University, the new Television and Radio Complex in Astana.

"I am confident that this agreement will help to continue effectively implementing the important investment projects of the company and thereby developing our cooperation for the common benefit," Sarydzhan added.

Sberbank of Russia is the largest bank in Russia and one of the leading global financial institutions. Around one third of all assets of the Russian banking sector falls to the share of the Savings Bank.
